M8 x 30mm Captive Knurled Thumb Screws High Type - A1 Stainless Steel

Knurled Thumb Screws are easily recognisable by their over-sized heads and are tightened and loosened by hand. This, along with their knurled edge, allows for a greater hold on the screw head for ease of installation. As Knurled Thumb Screws can be installed manually, they are frequently used in situations where routine maintenance is required, as they save both time and inconvenience.

Captive Screws feature an unthreaded reduced diameter shank which allows for disassembly of parts within a target assembly, without the screw falling out or having to be fully removed. Captive screws are often used in applications where regular maintenance and access is required, most commonly with panels.

Captive screws can be permanently locked in place or can have the ability to be fully disassembled from each component depending on application. This can be done through either partially threaded entry holes, cold welding, the use of a Captive Washer, or a retaining ring.
